It looks and sounds like something Bruce Wayne could have conjured up in the basement of his Gotham City mansion.
Were the Dark Knight in need of getaway vehicle over water, a 2,700 horsepower superboat built using genuine Chevrolet Corvette parts and lightweight carbon fibre would be just the ticket.
But this beast of a boat is real, and it could be yours – for $1.7million.

Power boat manufacturer Marine Technology Inc has taken America’s most famous muscle car off the road and onto the ocean waves.
Constructed from a Corvette ZR1, the 48-foot ZR48 possesses numerous auto-inspired touches, such as sleek body lines, authentic tail-lights and Corvette badges.
The exterior is made from carbon fibre, which is as strong as metal but much lighter, while power comes from a pair of twin-turbo Mercury Marine V8s pumping out 1,350 horsepower each.
That engine means the boat is able to top speeds of 180mph.
The inside has been given equally stylish treatment. After entering via custom gull wing doors there is a true Corvette cockpit, which can hold six people, original shifter and steering wheel, and genuine C6 dash.

MTI has a penchant for creating unique superboats, with Looney Tunes and Terminator models also out, and as they are too wide to be hauled on most roads, they need a custom trailer to safely tilt the boat on its side.
This Chevvy comes with an incredible five TVs, a generator, power washer, engine flush system, and an LED display system featuring 900 lights.
This boat trailer is adorned with billet aluminium steps, stainless steel fenders, chrome hand rails, hydraulic landing gear and custom paint.
