Update On Dansgate Social Media

  Dansgate was started as another alternative to Big Tech controlled social media, where our users retain the copyright to their content as well as their private data, and where we respect their free speech.  Hence our Community Standards are different.  My policy as Admin is not to comment on users content, unless they are in my Friends list.

Updates And Improvements

  Recently the developers of our platform provided us with 83 updates to the code, and there is another update coming shortly.  Yesterday we worked on improving our network’s site loading time through getting the site to compress on delivery to your browser and then decompress in the browser, reducing bandwidth in return.  We notice that at times Facebook and Twitter load slowly so we realize that very large sites have this problem due to all of their traffic, so we wanted to do something in the beginning; and will always be looking for ways to improve things are we grow to a larger community. Of course another factor that effects loading time is the users IP service which sometimes is not quite what it should be and also the route that is taken from the server to the users location somethings effect things.  However as of today we have noticed an improvement in our site and are quite happy with it.

We Dropped CloudFlare

  We were using CloudFlare and noticed that there are times it is down, and also it looks like they were shadow banning Banned.video during the MAGA march days, and we also noticed that they were not delivering various Conservative alternative news sites.  Hence we decided to drop CloudFlare since it appears they use their control of their user’s site URL as a means to intercept sites and shut them off for periods of time.

Profile Customization Feature Coming

  Dansgate currently has numerous site templates or themes the users can select to change the look of the entire site.  However, our vision was to provide an experience similar to the old original MySpace where the users can customize their profiles with css changes to the post box fields, fonts as well as background colors and even use background pictures.  Where anyone visiting a profile can see the customization or profile theme the user created.  I suggested this to the developers recently and then receive notice yesterday that this is in the works and we will be launching this feature soon.

Publishing Tools

  Dansgate has two means to publish content, the first is a simple Update window like Facebook and Twitter where you can make comments, post links to articles, and upload photos and videos.  The second method is our Post editor which is a full rich text editor based upon the TinyMCE editor and is similar to the text editor here at BIN.  And it allows the users the option of using html code just like here at BIN.  This in effect allows for more creative content.  Furthermore it has a Featured Image option for the Post, and you can naturally add as many photos you want between paragraphs and numerous videos.  I addition all videos posted from remote sources like Youtube, Banned.video etc, run live in our news feed so the users or rather your friends do not have to follow the link to external sites to watch videos.

  In the below snap shot you can see that the there are several selections you can choose to post content, Post, Discussion, Update, Album and Ads.  The Post features is the full rich text editor, while the Update is the same kind of post feature used by Facebook.

Chat Rooms, Broadcaster Pages, Groups, Organizations, And Official Profiles

  We have chat rooms, and our users can create their own, using the new HTML5 method for chat rooms.  And we have Broadcaster Pages as a service to broadcasters which have their own chat clients for commenting on broadcast.  In addition you can create groups, and we can provide pages for Organizations, as well as provide an Official Profile service for high profile celebrities, politicians, artist etc.

Embedding Your Feeds

  Also we do want people to have fun, create music video play list, or documentary playlist.  You can also embed your broadcast RTMP feed into post as well as your online game feeds for users to watch your activity in your favorite online game, so you have these capabilities also.  Hence Dansgate is a different kind of social media network.

Ads

  We also have an Ads section where our users can post things for sale including real estate.  We will be expanding the directory of the Ads to includes things based upon states and those locations outside the states we service.  We do limit access to Dansgate to English speaking nations and have banned the IP address of entire countries that might become problematic to our vision and those of whom we provide our service. Hence we are a gated community and hence the name Dansgate.

  Dansgate is run on its own platform via our own hosting service, and hence is not a part of the Big Tech cabal and technocracy.  Unlike Parler which was hosted through Amazon who took down Parler, we host our self.

  We hope that you like this idea for a social media network and decide to come and join us, please consider experimenting with our features, it does not matter if you post some nonsense at first as you learn how things work.   And so, having pure fun is perfectly fine, while others will consider using us for their free speech needs.
