Comments: Right from the beginning, we get a quote from Raymond Moody, assuring us that there is life after death. It’s amazing that I received this book in the mail and the very next day, I had to take my dog Story to the vet, only to learn he was dying from diabetes, anemia and pancreatitis infection. The vet suggested we let Story go. Story is a beloved dog and if there is an afterlife, I want Story next to me in spirit. I will always truly love that precious dog. To see a loved one, family member or a beloved pet die, is heart-breaking. If there is truly an afterlife, perhaps the grief and pain of seeing someone die would be lifted. In this book the big question, are NDE (Near Death Experience) real? The author explains that OBE (Out of Body Experience) is similar to a person having an epileptic seizure. Scientists have discovered the similarities by MRI scanning.

With this book, the author delves into ancient NDEs! I found this one fascinating. We all know Socrates, his pupil Plato, Plato’s student Aristotle. Aristotle became the private tutor to Alexander the Great. Socrates discusses the NDE of a warrior named Er the Pamphylian. Er was thought to be dead, but he came back to life with an incredible story about his journey into the afterlife. Er discusses reincarnation and here is what really blew me away. Er says that people who were punished for their past sins often chose a better life next time. But those that lived good lives wanted to experience something different, so they chose evil. Animals were even part of the process. Most animals chose to return as humans, while humans often chose the apparently easier lives of animals. So, does that mean my dog Story could return as a human, or would he choose to be the great dog that he once was? This is truly a fascinating read. This book is hard to put down.
