Russian Foreign Ministry: Biden must answer whether the United States is connected with the accident on gas pipelines. American President Joe Biden is obliged to answer whether he carried out his threat to ‘end Nord Stream’ and whether the United States is involved in pipeline accidents, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

In her Telegram channel, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, published a video in which Biden during a press conference declares that Nord Stream will be finished ‘if Russia invades Ukraine.’

‘We will end this … I promise you, we can do it,’ the US President said then.

According to Zakharova, Joe Biden is obliged to answer the question of whether the United States of America realized its threat on September 25 and 26, 2022, when an emergency occurred on three lines of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, which is tentatively qualified as rupture pipelines, expressing assumptions about their undermining.

‘The declaration of intent was backed by a promise. We must be responsible for our words. Misunderstanding of what is being said does not exempt from responsibility. All of Europe is entitled to a straight answer which is not so far forthcoming’ the Press Secretary said. The press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov earlier also recalled that in February Biden promised to get rid of Nord Stream 2.

According to Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde, the gas leak incidents occurred as a result of explosions. The locations of physical damage to both Nord Stream lines have been identified and are located in the exclusive economic zone of Denmark and Sweden. It is impossible to estimate the timing of the resumption of the operation of the gas pipeline.
